El Consejo Municipal de Majadahonda mejora la Avenida de los Reyes Católicos

The Municipal Council of Majadahonda began the renovation of the sidewalk on Avenida de Los Reyes Católicos, in the section between Avenda de Guadarrama and Charaima Street.

The intervention started with the removal of the previous flooring and the installation of pipes for LED lighting, as well as incorporating two reserve tubes for future needs. The new sidewalk will be 40×40 centimeters of Terrazzo Two-Color.

Urban accessibility and furniture improvement

The project also considers replacing the bus stop sign with a more modern model, in collaboration with the regional transport authority. The new installation will include a ramp for access by people with reduced mobility. Additionally, the baskets and supports for dog waste collection bags will be renewed.

To ensure pedestrian safety, the works are properly marked, and pedestrians were redirected to the even-numbered sidewalk.

Execution and continuity of continuity planning

It is expected that the works, which began in January, will be completed by March and cover an area of 1,250 square meters. In front of summer, the works will continue in the section between the Antonio Machado and San Pío X schools, thus avoiding interference with access to these centers during the school year.

This action is part of a comprehensive urban action plan promoted by the local council of Majadahonda, whose aim is the progressive renovation of pavements in the city center.
