Majadahonda reached its best unemployment rate in the last two decades in April 2025, with an unemployment rate of 4.47% of the active population, placing the municipality among the Madrid towns with the lowest unemployment rates.
As reported this Monday by the Majadahonda City Council, the number of unemployed registered at the Public Employment Services offices (SEPE) decreased to 1,839 people, the lowest figure since 2005.

The Madrid town ranks as the fourth municipality in the region with the lowest unemployment rate, behind only Boadilla del Monte, Pozuelo de Alarcón, and Las Rozas, in a context where unemployment in the Community of Madrid decreased by 1.56% compared to March.
The mayor, Lola Moreno, emphasized that «Majadahonda is, in macroeconomic terms, a city with full employment, as more than 95% of its working-age population is employed», while reaffirming her commitment to continue working in this direction.

The trend of unemployment in the municipality has shown significant improvement since 2020, when it recorded a 7.49% unemployment rate, decreasing to 4.52% last December and reaching the current 4.47% in April.
