After leading from the first half, the Juvenil team had to settle for a draw in Las Rozas (1-1). The Juvenil División de Honor tied on their visit to Las Rozas at Navalcarbón. It’s a disappointing point as our team was ahead on the scoreboard until the 90th minute when Enzo converted a free-kick from the edge of the box into a goal. Nonetheless, it’s important to appreciate not losing on a challenging field.

The Juvenil División de Honor stepped onto the Navalcarbón pitch determined to show that their position in the standings doesn’t accurately reflect their abilities. Although Las Rozas had more possession, Samu had little work in the first part of the game. The only scare was a back-pass indirect free-kick given near our small box, but the opponents kicked the ball out directly. David Bohega urged his players for more control, simpler passes, to set our tempo.

Samu saved us from falling behind in the 27th minute with a double save at close range. After that, our best moments in the game followed. We started combining amongst ourselves and gave an initial warning with a Tala header that narrowly went over. Finally, luck smiled on Peter. Raúl finished off a team play involving almost all our players, but his shot was blocked by a defender, and Peter converted the rebound into a thunderous strike from almost the center of the field to make it 0-1. That’s how we went into halftime.

At the start of the second half, it was evident that Las Rozas were more urgent to attack, considering they were losing in front of their fans. However, the first clear chance was once again for our Juvenil team, a Casca header that the opposing goalkeeper had to respond to with a great save. Less than ten minutes later, our number 10 had another very clear opportunity that the goalkeeper thwarted. The home team also hit the crossbar, so everything was up for grabs.

In the final stretch of the match, the best news was Guti’s return to the field after several months of a serious injury. Peter could have added to his goal tally with a second, but he also met the local goalkeeper. Despite all our efforts, in the 90th minute, Las Rozas earned a free-kick at the edge of the box that Enzo struck violently into Samu’s corner. Still, Casca and Titi had chances in stoppage time, but luck wasn’t on their side. The match ended 1-1, and we’re already looking ahead to the next weekend’s game: Móstoles URJC’s visit to La Oliva.
