Residents of Majadahonda have until Monday, March 31 to apply for socio-economic and environmental bonuses articulated by the municipality for the 2025 garbage tax.

Residents who receive Minimum Vital Income (IMV), who will receive a 50% discount, and elderly individuals with a pension lower than the annual value of Minimum Interprofessional Salary, currently around 16,000 euros, as well as people with disabilities receiving a permanent or total disability benefit lower than this amount, will receive a 30% discount, the local council said in a statement. These circumstances must be adequately proven by the applicants.

On the other hand, taxpayers in Majadahonda wishing to benefit from the 10% discount on the 2025 garbage service for deliveries to the Clean Point, must show that they have made at least five deliveries in various months from November 2024 to March 2025, including up to March 31.

As explained last November, there is an Exceptional term for this first year of implementing the tax because, in subsequent years, deliveries must be justified by December 31 of each year.

Residents interested in this bonus must have completed a form with their personal details and those of the property where the taxpayer is registered, such as the cadastral reference, when using the clean point located at El Plantía Road, 47 Surroundings.

From the year 2026, it will be possible to defer payment of the garbage service, allowing you to add a 5% discount to the bill.

In Majadahonda, this tax will amount to approximately 150 euros per year, or even less, for most owners of Residential properties in the city.
