The Juvenile Honor Division earns a draw in the visit of Rayo Ciudad Alcobendas (1-1)
The Juvenile Honor Division added a point in the visit of Rayo Alcobendas to La Oliva. The team led by David Bohega takes a step closer to salvation, although they would have liked to secure three points in front of their home crowd. Cheik put us ahead, but Quevedo equalized half an hour later.
After a week of very inclement weather, the rain stopped just as both teams took to the field and brought the storm to the game. Both teams showed great respect for each other and were careful not to make mistakes that could be exploited by the opposition. The first chance of the game was a cross from Iñigo that found no one to finish it.
Rayo Alcobendas responded quickly, forcing Samu to make a good save to deflect the ball for a corner. Iñigo was one of our most incisive players, delivering several dangerous crosses and even trying his luck with a shot from outside the box. However, at halftime, the score remained 0-0.
David Bohega made a substitution at halftime that couldn’t have gone better. He brought in Cheik, and the forward responded two minutes into the second half. He headed in a cross from Casca on the right, placing the ball low and out of reach for the Rayo Alcobendas goalkeeper. It was 1-0, but there was still plenty of time left.
The Juvenile team didn’t want to rely on such a narrow lead and continued to push forward, although without taking unnecessary risks. Unfortunately, we were unlucky. A seemingly harmless shot from Quevedo from outside the box hit a defender, took a deflection, and surprised Samu with a goal, making it 1-1. Despite our efforts in the final minutes, we were unable to score again. Therefore, the final result was a draw, and our Juvenile team is already thinking about regaining their energy for the visit to Union Adarve in two weekends.
